Auto Painting and Refinishing in Wylie Matched to Your Color

North Texas sun is hard on paint. Whether it's crash damage or a faded roof, the new finish has to blend with what's already on the car.

Paint That Matches in Daylight, Not Just in the Booth

Matching paint is harder than it sounds. The same color code can vary between factories and production years, and the paint on your car has been sitting in North Texas sun since the day it was sold. That's why our Wylie painters start with the code, then check the mix against the car itself with sprayed test cards before the panel is painted. The repair is then blended into neighboring panels, so any slight difference fades out gradually instead of stopping at a seam. Most of our painting follows collision or dent work, but we also refinish faded hoods and roofs and clear coat that has started to peel. You'll see the test card compared to your car before we spray.

What Our Auto Painting Includes

Good paint is mostly preparation. Here is everything that goes into a refinish at our shop.

  • Paint code and variant check

We read your car's paint code and identify the right variant for its year and plant.

  • Spray-out test cards

Test cards are sprayed and compared against the car in daylight before the mix is approved.

  • Surface preparation

Old finish is sanded, low spots are corrected and the surface is cleaned so new paint bonds properly.

  • Primer and sealer

Primer fills fine sanding marks, and sealer gives the base coat an even foundation.

  • Downdraft booth spraying

Paint goes on in a booth with filtered, downward airflow that keeps dust out of the finish.

  • Blending into adjacent panels

Color is faded into the panels next to the repair so the eye can't find a hard edge.

  • Clear coat and curing

Clear coat is applied and cured under controlled heat for gloss and durability.

  • Color sanding and polish

Any texture or dust nibs are sanded out and polished to match the factory sheen.

How We Paint a Car

  1. 1

    Match the color

We identify the paint code and variant, mix a sample and spray test cards. The cards are held next to the car outdoors. If they don't match, the formula gets adjusted until they do. This step can't be skipped.

  2. 2

    Prep and spray

Panels are sanded, primed and sealed, then masked and moved into the booth. Base coat and clear coat go on in controlled layers. The finish is cured with heat so it hardens properly. Prep usually takes longer than the spraying itself.

  3. 3

    Finish and inspect

After curing, we wet-sand and polish where needed to match the factory texture. The car is reassembled and inspected outside in natural light. When the color reads as one across every panel, it's done.

Why Our Paint Work Looks Right

  • We test before we spray

Spray-out cards catch a mismatch before it ends up on your car, not after.

  • Blending is standard

We blend into neighboring panels as a matter of course because that's what makes a repair invisible.

  • Clean booth, clean finish

Filtered airflow and careful masking keep dust and overspray out of the work.
